Next Afro Cuban weekender is on 11th to 14th September 2009 again at Mundesley, Norfolk.
Norfolk’s first Afro-Cuban Weekend. A small holiday camp on the Norfolk coast gave the whole event a very close nit feel where everyone seemed to know everyone, even if they didn’t they soon did. There was always space on the dance floor but it never looked empty. The classes looked few and far between on the program but you soon found out they were well balanced and with the best teaches going.
Ariel couldn't even walk past a set of conga's without stopping !
Ariel’s Orisha and Pilon class were so informative and interesting that everyone just loved him. I felt we were just lucky to have him come to sunny Norfolk.
Jose and the dumming workshopJose Ferrera Mulen, just to prove that Norfolk is not a total Cuban free zone Jose is based near Norwich.
For more of Jose including his Band Guateque at Norwich Arts Centre +Chan Chan Video, Energy by the bucket load.
Osbanis at his best as always with the Rumba.
Osbanis at his best with The Rumba
His remarks about the way some of us dance Cuban were hard hitting but true. What’s the point of having someone like Osbanis come to teach if he then doesn’t get his message over ! That’s why I goto workshops, to improve, not for compliments. I will never ever get to where I want to be but it’s not going to be through the lack of trying.
Annette and Niko, Bachata Workshop

Bachata, sorry to be so positve but I loved the workshop the amount and rate of information was perfect.
