Salsa Classes at the Staithe Hotel, Sutton near Norwich

Hi

What a great night, and as for the Reggaeton I am totally blown away to see the whole floor doing the routine and jumping a quarter of a turn and all on the same beat. Lets see what a few Mojito’s can do to that at the Party next week. Sharon didn’t stop talking about it when we got home.

The progress and the improvement in Cuban Salsa is getting very noticeable on the dance floor. I just love watching you all dance its gives me such a buzz that I’m bringing a little of what I love about Cuban Salsa to you.

A few more pages on the web site. They are listed on the home page.

To all of you that have tickets see you next week for the Party, Cuban Style.

Needless to say No more Classes until  8th Jan 2009.

11th Dec  Salsa Classes  8pm-11pm

18th Dec  Party night 7.30-midnight, get your ticket

8th Jan     restart classes at Sutton Staithe

I have just looked back to last week and have realized that during the night we danced a staggering six dances styles — Meringue, Rueda, Reggaeton, Bachata, Son and Cuban Salsa !  Wow that is neat. Shame we didn’t do some Orishas. We really must add the Conga to the list and don’t worry this is not the UK version (good job there are not high cliffs to jump off near here).

As for the Rueda class last week I am so impressed with the progress. To be able to say lets have a Rueda during the evening and to have every one and I mean everyone join in makes it all worth while. Then at the end of the night to dance a rueda to Los Van Van’s Tin Pop and keep it neat and fun WOW WOW this is what it is all about.

Roll on this week, we are going to go through some do’s and don’t and get a little more Cuba blood flowing through those veins.

The Beginners will be getting there normal individual attention as well.

Didn’t the room look nice ???

Look out for la Cuba Ritmo at the Talk, Oak Street, Norwich on the 7th Feb.

This is a 110% Cuban Band that you will want and need to dance to.

End of an era.

Jackie has been teaching Rueda in Gorleston near Gt Yarmouth for years now. In a very pretty and charismatic loft over looking the harbour and the North Sea.

No thats not the North Sea!

No that's not the North Sea!

On my and my wife’s first visit to the loft we found a circle of all the good dancers of the area doing the move Classico. Very impressive for us as we had only been dancing Salsa a few months and here we were in amongst the elite of Norfolk’s Salsa World. All we knew about Rueda was that it seemed fun and a move called fly.

In the first class we got a shock 11 moves to remember and the next week I had to call them all. I spent the next 4+ years driving around at work going through Rueda moves in my head so I had them sorted before the next Wednesdays Rueda.

Jackie has a natural rhythm and a very easy way of teaching.

So any weekender organizers out there should snap her up for teaching beginners Rueda.

Carnival de Cuban London 2008

Carnival de Cuban London 2008

All this has finally come to an end with Jackie wanting to spend time on other things such as her Samba and Afro-Cuban drumming.

So for all the Guy’s and Girl’s that have passed up the stairs to the loft “ Thanks Jackie”.

She was the one that taught us that if you dance Cuban you must soak up the ethos of Cuba to do it properly.
