Salsa, Rueda and Merengue

What a Great night Thursday, at Sutton Staithe Hotel, Norwich.

It’s so good to see so many new people as well as some many dancing after the Salsa classes.

The Cuban move in the improvers and the intermediate class was to give you something a little different to put into your Salsa and to give the ladies a chance to move the hips and arms but still under control of the guy. Its also a move where the guy can calm things down a little.

The Rueda’s were fast, if you can dance a Rueda to Los Van Van’s - Tim Pop you can do anything !!   Talk about exercise !! More this week.

Los Van Van ( Cuba’s best band ) are in London in March and Sharon is thinking of a mini bus for 16 of us if you are interested in going let us know.

Los Van Van in London 7th March 2009

It doesn’t get any better than this Los Van Van comes to London.+ DJs Dr Jim and Javier La Rosa
Cuba’s biggest and best Salsa and Timba band comes to London again. Out of all the Cuban bands this is the one at the top of the list of not to be missed. With DJ’s Javier and Jim the music will continue into the night making it one to remember.

One thing with Los Van Van is that if you are new to Cuban Salsa there will lots of tracks you know from your local Salsa club. If not, I think its best you change your Salsa Club/Class because you have been missing out  !!!!

Christmas is coming !

This Thursday for the first 30mins Sharon will be concentrating on hips and torso movement. This is the all important class that once you have it, you will have that Cuban look to go with all those moves.

Dance Cuban Salsa Classes

(Salsa at Sutton Staithe, Norwich, Norfolk, UK) just in case any of you from Norwich USA try looking for us !!!
This week for the first 30mins Sharon will give you a lovely short Bachata move for you. Later in the night will show you how to put this into your Cuban Salsa. The beginners will get individual attention in Cuban Salsa for those 30mins in the very basics movements and footwork.
Then on to 50mins of improvers/beginners and Intermediates.

The following week 20th Nov the guys get that first 30mins off because Sharon is going through the girls hip movement to nail that figure of 8.

Sun 2nd Oct Black History month

Black History month ended with a brilliant free concert in Gt Yarmouth Market. Complete with authentic food and from more at home real Ale. The month bought another Culture and its Music to Norfolk.

 Jose band Guateque. Alex playing the Conga’s. In a wonderful set of Afro Cuban music.

Anna Mudeka- traditional and original modern Zimbabwean music and dance. Anna filled the place with so much energy and colour that it had every one on there feet.

Moleque de Rua– samba as you’ve never heard it before!  Several generations of Sao Paulo street kids played a set to finish the evening.
